Transcendence wraps its sixth season

Sixth season draws to a close on Sept. 10|

Transcendence Theatre Company will conclude its 2017 season of outdoor Broadway concerts with a Gala Celebration at Jack London Stare Historic Park running Sept. 8 through 10.

At the conclusion of the season, Transcendence performances will have been seen by over 110,000 people and will have raised over $351,000 to benefit Jack London State Historic Park, according to Transcendence officials.

Transcendence Theatre Company was named among USA Today’s 10 best “Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn’t Miss” in the United States, and received four 2016 Broadway World San Francisco awards including Best Special Theater Event for the fifth consecutive year.

“We’ll end our memorable 2017 Broadway Under the Stars season with an intimate twist on our audience’s favorite performance of the summer,” said Transcendence artistic director Amy Miller. “This bold musical experience explores the connections of humanity and music featuring some of Transcendence’s all time favorite performers returning to the stage. We look forward to celebrating the end of summer as we honor community and life in our most intimate and engaging concert to date.”

The gala performances feature a mix of Broadway and popular music, enhanced with community tributes and reflections. The gala is also the culmination of their season-long raffle, the main annual fundraiser for Transcendence Theatre Company

The outdoor Broadway-inspired concerts featuring performers from New York and Los Angeles - artists who often come to the Sonoma stage directly from recent Broadway appearances. The performers scheduled to appear in the Gala Celebration include Amy Miller, Brad Surosky, Colin Campbell McAdoo, Courtney Markowitz, Desiree Davar, Evan Ruggiero, Felicia Finley, Jessica Lee Coffman, Joey Khoury, Julie Craig, Leslie McDonel, Meggie Cansler, Nicolas Dromard and Stephan Stubbins.

All events begin with picnicking among the vineyards of Jack London’s historic Beauty Ranch meadow - including food truck fare, an assortment of local wineries pouring, and pre-show music.
