‘Comedy of Errors’ at Buena Vista Winery

“Your town is troubled with unruly boys!” said Dromio of Syracuse. And, no, he wasn’t talking about Sonoma, folks – it’s one of the classic lines from William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors,” which is in performance under the stars through Aug. 20 at Buena Vista Winery.

Buena Vista’s Shakespeare Under the Stars is set against the backdrop of the historic Champagne Cellars. “Purchase a bottle or wines by the glass and bring your favorite picnic fare to enjoy on a perfect Sonoma summer evening,” urges the folks at Buena Vista.

The show is a production of the Sonoma Shakespeare Avalon Players, who have been bringing Shakespeare to Buena Vista for 37 years. One of Shakespeare’s earliest-written plays, “The Comedy of Errors” is a comedy where fate conspires to reunite not one, but two sets of identical twins, separated at birth…and, of course, comedy ensues.

Tickets are $35 general; $30 winery club members; $20 students. Performances are Wednesday through Sunday at 7 p.m. at 18000 Old Winery Road. Reserve tickets at buenavistawinery.com.
