‘Sour Grapes’ uncorks vintage wine fraud

Documentary follows story of wine collector and counterfeiter|

Filmmakers Jerry Rothwell and Reuben Atlas’s documentary expose on wine-industry counterfeiting screens Wednesday, July 19 at the Sonoma Community Center.

“Sour Grapes” follows the controversy which, according to the film’s distributor, “erupts when an unassuming young man floods the American wine market with fake vintages valued in the millions, bamboozling the wine world elite, in this humorous and suspenseful tale of an ingenious con on the eve of the 2008 stock market crash.”

The film is showing as part of the Sonoma International Film Festival. $20 or $10 for SVIFF Film Club members.

Wine reception at 6:30, film at 7 p.m. Tickets at 933-2600 or at the door.
