Bluegrass Fest gets pickin’ July 9

The mandolin wind blows through Green Music Center this Sunday|

Get your mandolin ears in tune Sonoma – some of the biggest names in bluegrass are coming to the North Bay to take part in the third annual Bluegrass Festival at the Green Music Center. In three short years, the event has become an annual favorite among bluegrass lovers in Sonoma County.

This year’s festival features the Del and Dawg Bluegrass Band, Mark O’Connor and the O’Connor Family Band, and Sierra Hull. The Del and Dawg, of the headlining act’s name, are Del McCoury and David Grisman, two of the best-known bluegrass musicians in the world.

According to the Green Music Center, “These multifaceted titans of the genre will move and shake you with their fiery performances, each bringing a distinct style and blend to the bluegrass sound.”

The event is Sunday, July 9 beginning at 2 p.m. on the Weill Hall lawn. Tickets are $25.

Guests are invited take their bluegrass experience “to another level” by pairing the concert with the second annual GMC Craft Beer Fest, featuring over 15 breweries including Lagunitas, Moonlight Brewing, Bear Republic, Cooperage Brewing, Henhouse and others. Admission to the GMC Craft Beer Fest is $30 ($40 for VIP) and includes a commemorative tasting glass.
