Transcendence Theatre Company kicks off its 2017 season tonight with the debut of “Another Openin’ Another Show!” in the old winery ruins at Jack London State Historical Park.

Now in its sixth season, Transcendence was identified by USA Today’s 10Best as the No. 2 “Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn’t Miss” and received four 2016 Broadway World San Francisco awards, including Best Special Theater Event for the fifth consecutive year.

Specializing in production of Broadway-themed concerts in various Sonoma County locations, the nonprofit arts organization has raised $267,000 for Jack London State Historic Park and performed for 81,000 patrons since its inception in 2011.

“Another Openin’ Another Show!” showcases music from iconic Broadway productions like “Les Miserables,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Rent,” “Chicago” and “Gypsy,” with numbers selected to reflect the magic and mystery of life’s journey.

With a large cast comprised of industry veterans fresh from stints on Broadway, the movies, and television the musical review is slated to run weekend evenings through July 2. Solo performances and larger ensemble numbers combine in a production that is dynamic and varied.

A pre-show picnic in Beauty Ranch meadow precedes each performance, with food truck fare and a wide variety of local wines available for purchase. The pre-show festivities include live musical performances, with the grounds opened to patrons at 5 p.m.

Transcendence’s season opens tonight and runs through Sept. 10, with four separate shows for the year.

Tickets range from $40 to $149. Youth prices apply for “Fantastical Family Night” only.

Season flex passes are available, and a portion of every ticket sold benefits Jack London State Historic Park. BestNightEver.org or call 877-424-1414.
