Ceramics sale at Sonoma Community Center

How about a holiday gift of handmade art?|

Sonoma Community Center’s annual holiday ceramics sale features more than 20 local artists who will be showing and selling handmade work in all price ranges. All of the work in the sale was made at Sonoma Ceramics and includes everything from porcelain ornaments to hand thrown serving dishes, decorative vases and sculptural art.

“Finding a one-of-a-kind, locally-made gift creates a more a meaningful holiday experience,” said ceramics program director Kala Stein. “Buying direct from the artist provides a unique shopping experience that benefits the artists, the local economy, and the ceramics program at the Community Center.”

Stein invites those who are interested in learning more about the ceramics program at the center to take the opportunity to tour the vibrant ceramics studio and meet the artists. The studio will be open for tours and there will be demonstrating artists both Saturday and Sunday.

The Center’s Ceramics program includes year-round classes for all skill levels and ages, Date Nights every first Friday, and public studio rental. The facility includes one large gas kiln, three electric kilns, Raku kiln, slab roller, spray booth, 12 potter’s wheels, clay for sale and more than 20 house-made glazes.

The Community Center’s ceramics holiday sale runs on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit sonomacommunitycenter.org.
