Vox Populi choir performance in Sonoma on May 21

Woman’s Club performance on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.|

The Vox Populi choir will present its spring concert “Stairways” at the Sonoma Woman’s Club at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.

The show will benefit the Sonoma Woman’s Club, 574 First St E., which has been active since 1901. Funds raised will be used to maintain and upgrade the historic building.

The 40-person choir, led by local musician Mark Dennis, will have live accompaniment by Mark Wilson and Mario Ramirez, of long-running Sonoma band Plan Be.

The set list will include “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin, “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen as well as selections by Toto, the Eagles, Paul Simon and many more. The Vox Populi choir sings complex four part harmonies with original arrangements for every song.

The choir includes some of the best voices of the town’s shop owners, small business people, accountants, nurses, artists, real estate agents and more.

Wine is available for purchase at each show. Tickets are $18 and available at Tiddlewinks (115 E. Napa St.) or at the door.

Vox Populi practices every Wednesday from 7:30-8:45 p.m. at Energy Fitness, 450 First St. East.
