Wine County Comic Con comes to town

A chance to pose for a photo with your favorite Power Ranger|

Comic book lovers can get their anime on locally this Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 when Sonoma County Fairgrounds hosts Wine Country Comic Con.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, comic book fans can check out the latest and greatest from the world of comics, movies, art, sci-fi, television, toys, anime, manga, fantasy, film, video games and cosplay.

Fans will be dressing up and hundreds of costumes will be on display. Attendees are welcome to take photos with or of their favorite characters. Scheduled to appear are Stan Lee’s daughter, JC Lee; red Power Ranger Steve Cardenas and Vic Mignogna from “Star Trek,” among others.

The actors who provide the voices of dozens of anime characters will be on hand to sign autographs, pose for photos and meet with their fans.  

The event takes place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa and will also include industry guests, vendors, exhibitors, artists and more. The convention center has a set up for burgers, hot dogs and other traditional convention center food. Comic books from any era, original artwork, graphic novels, memorabilia, DVD’s, videos, games, toys and T-shirts will also be on sale.

Admission for kids 10 and under is free. Presale tickets to this years event are $25 general admission per day or $35 for the two days. All children must have an adult with them while at the con.

All of the money raised at the event goes to the building fund for an early learning center for children with autism in Santa Rosa. winecountrycomiccon.com/admission
