Black & White Jazz brings Latin rhythms to Sonoma

Jazz with a Latin flair at Andrews Hall on Saturday night, Feb. 6|

The Sonoma Community Center is presenting 'Black & White Jazz Goes Latin!' in Andrews Hall on Saturday, Feb. 6. The show features the full Black & White Jazz quintet with its newest member, guitarist Dave McFarland. Black & White Jazz will celebrate the history of Latin jazz with a performance that the band says will, 'challenge the audience to stay seated.'

Latin jazz has long captured the imagination of American jazz audiences with its mix of sultry, sensual rhythms and foot-tapping syncopation.

Formed in 2013, the Black & White Jazz group features some of the Bay Area's best jazz musicians including Andy Dudnick on saxophone, Tim Wat on keyboard, Erik Nelson on trumpet, Ted Burick on bass, founder Jim Castrone on drums and Dave McFarland on guitar.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.; doors open 30 minutes before show time.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at $15 by phone at 938-4626 x1, online at sonomacommunitycenter.org or at the Center's office located at 276 East Napa St.
