Neil Simon’s comedy “Jake’s Women,” which closes Sunday, is the latest production by Sonoma Arts Live to grace the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St., Sonoma.

Director Joey Hoeber brings this wildly comic and moving play to life with a cast of talented local performers.

The curtain opens on Jake, a writer with a struggling marriage, as he converses with the women in his life, both real and imagined.

The results are some-times hilarious, sometimes poignant, and always entertaining, as Jake struggles to maintain his sanity and find happiness.

In this autobiographical play, “Jake’s Women” revisits territory originally explored in Simon’s 1977 “Chapter Two,” in which Simon mourns the early death of his first wife and then gallops off into the sunset with wife No. 2. In “Jake’s Women,” the theme is revisited years later, but this time Maggie, wife No. 2, isn’t so happy anymore.

The cast includes Cameron Stuckey, Jennifer Peck, Julia Holsworth, Jaime Love, Anya Cherniss, Meghan Lehmann, Claudia Rosa and Coral Utnehmer.

Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
