Venture into ‘Virtual Vaudeville’

Sonoman Lexy Fridell teams with Mark Gindick|

Sonoma native and New York City stage star Lexy Fridell, joins Mark Gindick in a performance of “Off to the Cloud: A Virtual Vaudeville Adventure: Login, Tune in, Connect” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Jacuzzi Winery as part of the Transcendence Theatre Company’s ongoing Transcendence Artist Series.

Both Fridell and Gindick are familiar to Transcendence Theatre Company fans, having appeared in “Broadway Under the Stars” shows. Gindick honed his vaudeville talents in New York City’s famous “Big Apple” Circus and appeared Off-Broadway in “Wing Man.” Fridell is a popular Sonoma native who has appeared on Broadway in the “Pee-Wee Herman Show” and Off-Broadway in “Avenue Q.” Together they team up for an evening of virtual hilarity as they explore love and connection in the digital world.

Gindick modernizes the tradition of vaudeville using social media and technology while Fridell plays his electronic guide, utilizing her penchant for playing multiple characters to teach him how to truly live. Comedy and fun ensue in a journey of eccentric dance, live music, audience participation and physical comedy.

In addition to its mainstage “Broadway Under the Stars” concerts, Transcendence Theatre Company presents “Transcendence Artist Series,” a collection of one- and two-night concerts featuring individual artists in stunning settings throughout Sonoma Wine Country. From hilltops and vineyards to the Jack London State Historic Park Winery Ruin, these intimate performance experiences shine the spotlight on major talents such as the legendary Ben Vereen to popular Broadway stars like Megan Hilty, Sutton Foster and current Broadway artists, as well as featuring new works under development by Transcendence Theatre Company.

“Off to the Cloud: A Virtual Vaudeville Adventure: Login, Tune in, Connect” will be performed at Jacuzzi Winery, 24724 Arnold Drive, Sonoma

Pre-show picnics begin at 5 p.m.; show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $65 for VIP steating.
