The Sonoma Arts Live production of Michael Frayn’s farce “Noises Off!” continues through May 31 on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St.

The production is directed by Nick Christenson and produced by Narrow Way Stage Company.

This comedy, described by many as the funniest farce ever written, boasts a manic menagerie of actors rehearsing a theatrical flop called “Nothing’s On.”

Doors slamming, on-and-off-stage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure into this classic romp.

The Tony-nominated “Noises Off!” made its debut in 1982, and went on to win numerous awards, including the Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Play of 1982.

Christenson, of Narrow Way Stage Company, sums it up saying, “This show is a great one for people who love theater. It is a great show for performers. It is a great show for audiences to see a glimpse into the zany world of producing a play. And it is a farce! Relationships! Doors! Emotions! Sardines! Getting them on – and getting them off. The theater. Life.”

The cast includes Nora Summers, Ron Smith, Cat Bish, Chris Ginesi, Freddie Lambert, Zane Walters, Angela Squire, Skylar Evans and Alexis Evon.

Performances take place at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 31.

This show is the second in a series of six plays presented during the Sonoma Arts Live local series. For tickets, call 974-1931 or go to sonomaartslive.org.

Upcoming shows include Jules Feiffer’s “Little Murders,” June 11-28; Neil Simon’s “Jake’s Women,” July 9-26; David Auburn’s “Proof,” Aug. 20 to Sept. 6; and Stephen Sondheim’s “Assassins,” Sept. 17 to Oct. 4.
