The Sebastiani Theatre Foundation presents “To Kill a Mockingbird,” at 7 p.m. Monday, May 18, as part of its Vintage Film Series #10 with classic movies showing one Monday each month, through June.

Movie lovers of all ages now have the opportunity to experience these classic films the way they were meant to be seen – on the big screen.

A fundraising effort by the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation, the Vintage Film Series brings some of the most memorable classic films back to the historic Sebastiani Theatre on the Sonoma Plaza.

“To Kill a Mockingbird,” directed by Robert Mulligan and written by Harper Lee (novel) and Horton Foote (screenplay), stars Gregory Peck, John Megna, and Frank Overton. “To Kill a Mockingbird,” is the story of Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era South, who defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge, and his children against prejudice.

The final film in this series is:

• Monday, June 15, 7 p.m. – “American Graffiti,” (1973) was directed by George Lucas and written by George Lucas, Gloria Katz, and Willard Huyck. “American Graffiti,” takes us back to the early 1960s and tells the story of two high school graduates who spend one final night cruising the strip with their buddies before they leave for college. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, and Paul LeMat. Rated PG (110 minutes).

Vintage Film Series tickets can be purchased for $9 per individual movie. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Wine by the glass will be offered for sale at each movie screening.

All proceeds will benefit the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation.

Patrons are invited to “dress in the era” for each film. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with show time for each vintage film at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets or ticket packets in advance or as gifts, call 996-9756.
