The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association hosts the 32nd annual Plowing Play Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Jack London State Historic Park.

This popular family event features historic farming practices that include plowing and mowing demonstrations as well as free horse-drawn wagon rides around the historic ranch buildings. See mules along with Clydesdale, Percheron, Shire, and Belgian draft horses, blacksmithing, horseshoeing, sheep shearing, early day gas engines and more.

Travel back in time and experience real horsepower at the Beauty Ranch, home of the famous author Jack London, who also raised Shire draft horses.

Gypsy Time Travelers will return again this year with their mobile castle to entertain and make history come alive through storytelling with live anvil accompaniment.

The park entry fee of $10 per vehicle includes all activities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase or bring your own picnic lunch. The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to these gentle giants and preserving the art of driving a team.

Jack London State Historic Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen.
