‘Doubt’ next in vintage film series

The Sebastiani Theatre Foundation presents “Doubt,” at 7 p.m.|

The Sebastiani Theatre Foundation presents “Doubt,” at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, as part of its Vintage Film Series with classic movies showing one Monday each month, through June.

Movie lovers now have the opportunity to experience these classic films the way they were meant to be seen – on the big screen. A fundraising effort by the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation, the Vintage Film Series brings classic films back to the historic Sebastiani Theatre.

“Doubt” (2008), was directed and written by John Patrick Shanley and stars Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. The film weaves a tale of a Catholic school principal who questions a priest’s ambiguous relationship with a troubled young student. Rated PG-13 (104 minutes)

Other upcoming films in the series:

• Monday, May 18, 7 p.m. – “To Kill a Mockingbird,” (1962), directed by Robert Mulligan and written by Harper Lee (novel) and Horton Foote (screenplay), stars Gregory Peck, John Megna, and Frank Overton. “To Kill a Mockingbird,” is the story of Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era South, who defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge, and his children against prejudice. Not Rated (129 minutes).

• Monday, June 15, 7 p.m. – “American Graffiti,” (1973) was directed by George Lucas and written by George Lucas, Gloria Katz and Willard Huyck. “American Graffiti,” tells the story of two high school graduates who spend one final night cruising the strip with their buddies before they leave for college. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, and Paul LeMat. Rated PG (110 minutes).

Vintage Film Series tickets can be purchased for $9 per individual movie. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.

Wine by the glass will be offered for sale at each movie screening. All proceeds will benefit the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation.

Patrons are invited to “dress in the era” for each film. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with show time for each vintage film at 7 p.m.
