The Sonoma Community Center continues its Winter Performance Series on Saturday, March 7, when Cynthia Tarr debuts new music from her upcoming album, “Here’s to Life.”

For more than five years, Tarr has played a significant role at the Sonoma Community Center, founding such programs as the Kitchen Concert Series and the Free Spirits Gospel Choir, as well as teaching an ever-growing group of vocal students of all ages.

For the past four years, the center has selected Tarr to emcee its Holiday Follies Review, and to sing the national anthem at its Fourth of July parade and City Party community celebrations.

Cynthia Tarr & Band will perform a range of musical styles, including ballads, shuffles, cha-cha, rock and roll, soul, and even a bit of jazz. Tarr has been singing and writing songs professionally for more than 25 years.

Bassist (and husband) Cliff Hugo will join Tarr on stage in Andrews Hall, along with Ken Cook, Kendrick Freeman and Jean-Michel Hure. Hugo has been the bassist for Supertramp since the 1990s, and has worked with countless artists including Ray Charles, Solomon Burke, Mike Love, Carl Verheyen Trio, Manhattan Transfer and Tim Finn.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and the full Winter Performance Series lineup is available online at svbo.org, by calling 938-4626, ext. 1, or in person at the Sonoma Community Center office, 276 E. Napa St., in Sonoma.
