Jensen supplies laughs at Murphy’s Saturday

Comedy returns to Murphy’s Irish Pub Saturday, Feb. 28, with headliner Keith Lowell Jensen featuring Johnny Taylor and Michael Patten.

The shows, hosted by Torio Van Grol, are at 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Jensen, who has just released a new comedy album on Stand Up! Records, says he performs stand up comedy because he has an overwhelming compulsion to share and have found that this is more palatable if he is funny. And because he has not been good at other things he tried. He hopes to also be compassionate, gentle, and kind while doing his part to fight the pigs.

He has four comedy specials out; “To The Moon,” “Cats Made of Rabbits,” “Elf Orgy,” and “Atheist Christmas.”

Also appearing are Taylor and Patten Sardonic and personal, Taylor elevates the art of self-deprecating storytelling with his debut album, “Tangled Up in Plaid” on Stand Up! Records. Taylor gained the attention of the comedy world sharing stages with Robin Williams, Doug Stanhope, and Dave Attell. Taylor is currently co-headlining Godless, a comedy tour with Stand Up! Records label mate Jensen.

Taylor delivers chapters from his awkward autobiography with smoothness comparable to making love on sandpaper sheets. “Tangled up in Plaid” is available now on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, or out of his backpack at live shows.

Patten is one of the best young comics in Northern California and, having recently won the 2014 Sacramento Comedy Festival competition, is an up-and-coming performer audiences want to keep their eye on.
