The Sebastiani Theatre will host a special screening of “Jimi: All Is By My Side,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21.

“Jimi: All Is By My Side,” stars OutKast’s André Benjamin as Jimi Hendrix in this revealing biopic from Academy award-winning writer-director John Ridley (“12 Years A Slave”).

Covering a transformative year in Hendrix’s life from 1966-67, in which he went from a New York City backing musician to making his mark in London’s music scene up until his Monterey Pop triumph, the film presents an intimate portrait of the sensitive young musician on the verge of becoming a rock legend.

The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival to rave reviews in 2013. And recently, Benjamin was nominated for an independent Spirit award for his portrayal of the rock legend. Ridley was nominated for directing by the NAACP.

Tickets are $10 and are available at sebastianitheatre.com or at the theater ticket office. Proceeds will benefit the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation.
