As Sonoma Valley High School varsity football team leaders and all-league mainstays for the past two seasons, seniors Dan Deely and Matt Robinson recently received All-Empire grid recognition by The Press Democrat for the second straight year.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Deely, a two-time Sonoma County League back of the year honoree as a quarterback and defensive back, was a repeat All-Empire first-team selection for defense after turning in stellar 2013 season for the Dragons, whom he led from both sides of the ball to a second-place SCL finish and into the North Coast Section playoffs.

Robinson, a 6-4, 295-pound lineman who was a pillar of strength on both lines of scrimmage as a repeat first-team all-leaguer and was an All-Empire second-team pick last season, was a force on Sonoma’s offensive line in 2013 and was named All-Empire first team this year.
