Eighth Street Wineries set Feb. 22 open house

Eighth Street Wineries Sonoma will host its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.

Off the beaten path yet just five minutes from Sonoma Plaza, nine wineries open their cellar doors for this special event. Enjoy this unique chance to visit all nine wineries in one stop, park once and spend the afternoon. Stroll through the stretch of warehouses, glass in hand and savor various pairings by local chefs. It’s likely visitors will meet the winemakers themselves in this intimate setting, a rare opportunity, as many of these ‘special gem’ wineries are typically closed to the public. Enjoy small-batch wines and hard to find wines: a special occasion for any wine lover.

Advance tickets may be purchased online at eighthstreetwineries.com. Tickets will also be available at the door of each participating winery on the day of the event. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, which includes a wine tasting glass and access to all participating wineries event tastings and activities. A Designated Driver ticket is also available for $10. Tickets, detailed event information and a map may be obtained at the door of participating wineries.

The nine participating wineries include Anaba Wines, Enkidu Wines, MacRostie Winery and Vineyards, Parmelee-Hill Vineyards, Stone Edge Farm, Talisman Wines, Three Sticks Wines, Tin Barn Vineyards and Ty Caton Vineyards.

“We look forward to this event every year. It gives us, along with those not normally open to the public, the opportunity to open up our cellar doors and connect with people on a personal level. All while sharing some of Sonoma’s highly sought after wines and savoring pairings by local chefs,” said Michael Lancaster, winemaker/co-owner of Tin Barn Vineyards.

The wineries are located at 21692 and 21481 Eighth Street East, Sonoma.
