Edith Elizabeth Gregg Tepovich

Edith Elizabeth Gregg Tepovich passed away in her sleep on Aug. 31, 2013, in Petaluma at the age of 88. Edith was a native of Wilmington, Del., and made her home with her husband, Eli Tepovich, in Sonoma. She received her nursing degree from Georgetown University and served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps where she achieved the rank of lieutenant commander in 1960, while stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland and Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois.

She left the military to raise her children, but continued her nursing career with the Sonoma Valley Unified School District, Napa State Hospital and was a volunteer nurse with Hospice. Edith was also an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Sonoma as well a volunteer for FISH (Friends In Sonoma Helping) and was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. In retirement, she pursued her lifelong hobbies of watercolor painting, sewing and knitting.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Eli. She is survived by her son, George Tepovich, of Reno; and her daughter, Ann Tepovich, of Novato. She also leaves behind a large group of extended family and friends.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and reception at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 275 E. Spain St., Sonoma, CA 95476.
