Dunbar School stages annual melodrama

Dunbar Elementary School will stage its 22nd annual fifth grade play on Memorial Day weekend on the outdoor Haver Stage under the oaks at the back of the campus. This year the play is “The Deadwood Desperado, or, A Mother’s Grief” – a family-friendly melodrama complete with sound effects, costumes and a twisting plot line. Kate Kennedy and parent volunteers are hard at work preparing the students’ public performances at 6 p.m. on the evenings of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday May 23, 24 and 25. Kids from left to right are: Lily Barbagelata (as Lily Blossom), Elias Casolla (as Wild Bill Hickock), Emilee Atkinson (as Rose Blossom), Robert Greenslade (as Ned Trueblood), Alex Farrow (as Black’n Redburn) and Emma Pressley (as Molly Loveless). Tickets are available at the door – $10 adult, $5 child or $25 family package. If you would like to support the play, donations can be sent to 11700 Dunbar Road, Glen Ellen, CA 95442.
