The Sonoma County League and Marin County Athletic League regular seasons are coming to a close for Sonoma Valley High School’s boys and girls' soccer and water polo teams, respectively, who are holding their home finales and senior nights this week.

The Dragon boys seniors include Brian Casillas, Gregorio De la Cruz, Jose “Ángel” García, Erick García, Eduardo Hernández, Haliel Juárez, Andriw Echeverría, Chris Molina, Edgardo Pamatz, Sam Sonheim and Alexis Zamudio.

Sonoma’s water-polo teams, who were overwhelmed by perennially powerful Redwood squads last Thursday – the Dragon boys were defeated 20-1, while the girls lost 16-2 – will host MCAL foe Marin Catholic in today’s home finales starting at 5 p.m. in the Sonoma Aquatic Center pool.

Prior to tonight’s matches, Sonoma will honor its four seniors, including Adam Curry, Ella Mighell, Amanda Ramponi and Rick Taggesell.

In their losses to Redwood, Ramponi and freshman Heather Durfee each scored a goal for the Lady Dragons, while junior Joey Dukes tallied the Dragon boys’ lone goal.

The Sonoma water polo teams wrap up their season with MCAL matches against Justin-Siena on Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Napa Valley College pool.

Sonoma’s cross-country teams travel to Sebastopol for SCL dual-meet showdowns on the Ragle Ranch course with longtime league foe Analy tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The Dragon runners will then El Molino in both their home and SCL dual finales at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park course.
