Dragon soccer boys blank Elsie Allen

After honoring their dozen seniors, Sonoma Valley High School's varsity soccer boys took the Arnold Field pitch last Thursday night and dominated Sonoma County League foe Elsie Allen in their home finale.

With their defense supporting senior goalie Jose “Ángel” García in keeping a tight, shut-down reign over Else Allen, the Dragons found the back of the net four times in posting a one-sided 4-0 SCL shutout victory.

Sonoma's seniors consisted of García, Brian Casillas, Gregorio De la Cruz, Andriw Echeverría, Erick García, Eduardo Hernández, Haliel Juárez, Chris Molina, Edgardo Pamatz, Sam Sonheim, Antelmo Vázquez and Alexis Zamudio.

Leading the Dragons offensively were sophomore Juan Beto Zaragosa's two goals scored; sophomore Diego Larios' one goal and one assist; Echeverría's goal; and junior Edwin Reyes' assist.

Sonoma's boys end their SCL regular season playing Analy in a make-up match Thursday, Oct. 30, in Sebastopol.

The varsity soccer Lady Dragons wrapped up their SCL season facing El Molino in Forestville yesterday – results not available at presstime.
