District honors retiring teachers

A dozen retiring teachers and staff were honored last month at the Sonoma Valley School District’s annual retirement celebration, held at Gundlach Bundschu Winery. The following educators were honored for their dedication and years of service to the children of Sonoma Valley:

Suzanne Bolli – 14 years at Prestwood Elementary School as an instructional asstistant.

Barbara Ciapponi – 17 years at Sonoma Valley High School as a special education teacher.

Nancy Haber – eight years at Prestwood as a first grade teacher.

Nancy Heil – 24 years at Prestwood as a library technician.

Claudia Kelly – 24 years at the district office as a human resources administrative assistant.

Diana Lawrence – 23 years at the district office in child health and welfare.

Laura Losk – 29 years at Adele Harrison Middle School and Sonoma Valley High School as a counselor.

Donna Luzzi – 18 years in food service as food services manager.

Nanci Mathison – 29 years at the district office as director of student services.

JoAnn Merritt – 28 years at Sonoma Valley High School as the administrative assistant to principal.

Jacquie Phillips – 24 years at Prestwood as a library technician.

Gary Rossi – five years in transportation as a bus driver.

Leslie Santogrossi – 15 years at Sonoma Valley High School as an instructional assistant.
