Display benefits SOS, dog rescue

The Herrick family is hosting an expansive holiday display at their residence, 1105 Solano Ave., to benefit the Sonoma Overnight Shelter and Deserving Dogs Rescue.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the family invites the community to check out their holiday display. Dave Herrick and sons, Dylan, 9, and Nicholas, 7, along with close friends will be giving out free hot chocolate to raise money for Sonoma Overnight Support and Deserving Dogs Rescue.

The family would love to be able to serve 200 to 300 cups of hot chocolate while raising money.

Nettie Herrick said, “giving back and donating is so important in all communities. I want my kids to understand it’s not just about giving to the ones you love; it’s about giving to the less fortunate. Our idea is have a fun evening, throw the family in the car and check out all the cool Christmas displays around this great town we all share, stop by our house have a cup of cocoa and at the same time help make a difference this season.”
