Did Sonoma Valley Fund forget Meals On Wheels?

Editor, Index-Tribune:

Your Sept. 16 article tells of the honoring of service for the 26 Star Volunteers by the Sonoma Valley Fund. Congratulations to all of these outstanding volunteers for their recognition is well deserved.

However, there was no mention of Sue Holman and Susan Weeks. For years these two have volunteered thousands of hours running our local Meals on Wheels program (not to be confused with the subsidized Council on Aging Meals on Wheels). They donate their time lovingly planning delicious hand made nutritious hot meals, coordinating drivers and cooks, shopping for food, working in the Trinity kitchen alongside the other volunteer cooks and performing all the administrative duties required by such a well-run organization.

They are so committed to their clients they do not even stop for holidays. To have been overlooked by the Foundation surely must have just been an oversight that needs adjustment.
