Sonoma’s own Defying Gravity Gals will return to Andrews Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 5 and 6, with a new J Love Productions show, “The Stew,” a musical evening featuring spoofs on popular talk shows. Showtime is 7 p.m. at the Sonoma Community Center on the Rotary Stage at Andrews Hall.
Part of the Sonoma Theatre Alliance’s “Sonoma Nights” series, this original revue serves up “a bit of musical reflection with a dash of this and that from the best of your favorite talk shows,” according to Jaime Love, founder of J Love Productions, which has been producing musical revues in Sonoma for the past eight years. Love and local singers Lori Bailey, Kerry Daly, Laura Farber, Jeane MacPherson and Monica McKey bring years of performing experience and their zany take on life and love to this collaborative effort.
McKey said, “Our show last year really seemed to strike a chord with folks, especially women of a certain age, so we couldn’t resist doing another show.”
Drummer Jim Castrone, bassist Mark Petrella and guitarist Andy Weinberger will join Farber on the keyboard to provide musical accompaniment, and local performer Bob Smith will act as the master of ceremonies.
Tickets, at $20, are available through svbo.org or by calling the Sonoma Community Center at 938-4626, ext. 1.
The Sonoma Community Center is located at 276 E. Napa St.
