As a player, leader and catalyst for the success of Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity baseball team over the past two years, senior Dan Deely signed his national letter of intent for a baseball scholarship to Sacramento State University in the SVHS library on Wednesday.

A standout two-time all-league shortstop, Deely earned All-Empire honors after posting a .414 batting average, with 36 hits, 22 RBIs, 22 runs, nine doubles and one triple in 2013.

Directly after he completes his senior 2014 baseball season with the Dragons, and graduates from Sonoma, Deely will move to Sacramento and begin his collegiate baseball career with NCAA Division-1 Sacramento State University.
