Deely NFF scholarship winner

Another honor was earned by Sonoma Valley High School senior Dan Deely, whose stellar 2013 season as quarterback and defensive back helped the Dragons snare a second-place Sonoma County League finish and a berth in the North Coast Section Division-3 playoffs.

At the recent National Football Foundation Hall of Fame dinner and awards ceremony in the San Francisco Airport Marriott, Deely became the ninth Dragon football standout to be honored as an NFF scholarship winner, receiving the $1,000 award for football achievement, scholarship and citizenship.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Deely is a two-time SCL back of the year honoree a both quarterback and defensive back, as well as a repeat All-Empire first-team selection, and an All-Metro honorable mention recipient. Deely, who has a 3.67 GPA, recently accepted an athletic scholarship for baseball from Sacramento State University.
