Fall Dragon sports preseason underway

With the football program into its second week of preseason workouts, Sonoma Valley High School’s six other fall sports programs – girls’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ cross-country, boys’ and girls’ water polo and girls’ tennis and golf – began their 2014 practice sessions yesterday.

Sonoma’s girls tennis team is directed by head coach Mary Kate Dreyer and will start their preseason workouts at 2:15 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the high school courts.

The Lady Dragon netters, who open their season on Tuesday, Sept. 9, against El Molino in Forestville, are holding a benefit car wash and bake sale on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sonoma Chevrolet.
