The midsummer Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library book sale will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Saturday, Aug. 23.

The sale features a huge selection of books for everybody’s pleasure, from escapist fiction to practical how-to’s, to downright decadent coffee table “visual feast” books, plus about everything in between, including CDs, audiobooks, DVDs, VHS, and now, also, vinyl records. Nothing is priced at more than $2, and all students grades K-12 receive one free selection.

Also, bring your filled out purchase receipt from the sale to Crisp Bakery (across the street from the library) and 25 percent of your coffee/pastry purchase will go the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library.

The books on sale are not used library books, they are books that are donated to the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library by the community. The Friends are very grateful to the local community, they donate wonderful books and are so supportive of the library and the Friends.

The group does not sell any books from previous sales. Each book sale contains books donated since the last sale.

Teachers and educators can contact Dave Dobbins at 966-3072 to get free books at the end of our book sale on Saturday afternoon. If anyone has a lot of books to donate and needs someone to pick them up they can contact Wayne Schake at 938-9248. Children get one free book throughout the book sale.

The sale starts Wednesday, Aug. 20, with a member only preview from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (memberships available throughout the sale). The sale then opens to the public from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. On Thursday, Aug. 21, and Friday, Aug. 22, the sale is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Sonoma Valley Regional Library is located at 755 W. Napa St., Sonoma.
