Editor, Index-Tribune:

We just came back from an amazing, second annual community event – Solo Flight – Songs from the Women of Vox Populi.

Fifteen women, whom many of us know as solid contributors to life in Sonoma, got a chance to belt out fabulous songs in front of a very talented group of musicians to a sold out crowd at the wonderfully renovated Moose Lodge.

As I understand it, it is not easy to get a band to sing behind you. Elaina O’Malley’s husband, Ed Dufault, encouraged his group, the DavidjohnQuartet, to give the women of Vox Populi that very lovely opportunity.

Ed, David Farrell and John Arntz were joined by Cliff Zyskowski on keyboards and Keith Ridenhour on saxophone. Several things stood out for me – the quality of the voices, the range of the songs and the way the band backed each one individually. My heartfelt thanks.
