Musicworks!/Sonoma performs to benefit VOICES

VOICES Sonoma, a program of On The Move, will hold its first-ever community fundraiser on Sunday, June 29, at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.

VOICES Sonoma brings together partnering agencies to provide housing, education, employment and wellness services to youth, ages 16 to 24, who are aging out of foster care with little or no support. Created and run by former foster youth, VOICES is the first organization of its kind in the nation. MusicWorks!/Sonoma will perform well-loved classic tunes by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and George Gershwin. Tickets include an array of hors d’oeuvres prior to the performance, which starts at 6 p.m. A no-host Jacuzzi wine bar will serve four of their best wines.

Transcendence Theatre opens its 2014 season in the Jack London State Historic Park tonight, June 27, with the presentation of “One Singular Sensation.” The season, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the park, encompasses a variety of different shows at the park and other venues throughout the Valley. It concludes Sept. 6, and includes four separate themed concerts, wine tasting and pre-event picnics in the park.

All events begin with a pre-show picnic at 5 p.m., with food and wine for sale from various on-site vendors, and show time at 7:30 p.m.
