Napa Valley College and Santa Rosa Junior College are each hosting a summer business boot camp. The camp includes researching business ideas, business simulation, guest speakers and field trips. The program is for students ages 14 to 27, and it runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for one week, at a cost of $200. Students can choose between Monday, June 23, to Friday, June 27, at Napa Valley College or from Monday, July 14, to Friday, July 18, at the Petaluma campus of SRJC.nvcyep.com...

North Bay Engineering for Kids is offering a Parents Night Out at its learning center in Petaluma every Friday and Saturday night from June 20 through Aug. 15. Two local high school students are again this summer offering a Becoming Bookworms book club at Readers Books. The sessions are from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for girls entering grades two-to-five. The Republic of Thrift just sent out a small, end-of-school-year donation to all 11 schools in the Sonoma Valley Unified School District, bringing its total to date to more than $80,000. The $20 raffle tickets for the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation’s Chevy Spark car raffle are on sale at the store now. The Sonoma Valley Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Fizz, Boom, Read!” will run from Tuesday, June 10 through Friday, Aug, 1, for preschoolers, grade-schoolers and teens. Kids will track their progress with reading logs and receive prizes and raffles to encourage summer reading. Registration is free and on-going. At 11 a.m. on most Wednesdays, the library will feature a special program for kids ages 5-11.

The first two are: June 11 – Masks & Mime/Mascaras y Pantomima. A bilingual program of improvisation games, stage clowning and pantomime illusions.
