Two Sonoma Valley High School winter athletes recently received All-Empire recognition by The Press Democrat, as did one winter and one fall athlete from the Valley’s Archbishop Hanna High School.

In wrestling, Sonoma senior Harris Meglen earned All-Empire second-team honors after claiming a Sonoma County League weightclass title and, as a ninth seed, taking home a North Coast Section top-12 finish at 115 pounds.

Junior girls’ basketball all-leaguer Delaney Swanson, who helped lead the Lady Dragons to a second-place SCL finish and into the NCS playoffs, was a large-school girls’ All-Empire third-team selection.

Archbishop Hanna High School’s soccer senior team captain Alexis Magana, who, as an all-leaguer, led the Hawks to the Bridge School League title and into the NCS Division-6 semifinals, was named to the small-school soccer boys’ All-Empire first team.

In basketball, junior Armani Perry was a small-school boys’ All-Empire second-team pick after helping the Hanna hoops Hawks capture the BSL championship and reach the posteseason’s NCS Division-3 quarterfinals.
