SONOMA VALLEY TENNIS Association, along with Kiwanis Club of Sonoma Plaza, Rotary Club of Sonoma and the Bodil Sorenson Junior Tennis Memorial Fund, are sponsoring a free junior tennis program for ages 6-to-15-years-old for beginners and returning players every Saturday in April and May at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park courts (weather permitting). The free tennis program – under the direction of SVTA’s USPTA pro Felipe Monroy – starts tomorrow, Saturday, April 5, with level-A ages 6-to-11 going from 3:30 to 4:30, and level-B ages 12-to-15 taking the court from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Also, the SVTA is offering a free adult clinic for beginners and returning players from 6 to 7 p.m. every Friday in April at the Maxwell Park courts (weather permitting). FAIRMONT SONOMA MISSION Inn and Spa is hosting the 10th annual El Verano Elementary School benefit golf tournament teeing off at noon on Monday, April 14, at the Sonoma Golf Club, followed by a 6 p.m. dinner, awards ceremony and raffle with its grand prize being an all-inclusive five-night trip for two to Maui. THE 18TH ANNUAL Bottomfeeders Open will take place with a noon tee-off at Oakmont’s West Course on Friday, May 2, with proceeds from the event benefitting the Sonoma Valley Unified School District’s theater program.
