Ecology Center seeks creek-side residents to host cleanups

The Sonoma Ecology Center will facilitate a day of environmental stewardship to commemorate Earth Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26.

The Ecology Center is seeking residents who live creek-side willing to host neighborhood creek cleanups. The Ecology Center will help recruit volunteers for each site, and will provide both cleanup tools and materials. To learn more about hosting a creek cleanup in your neighborhood, contact Trace McKellips at 996-0712, ext. 126.

Community members can also participate in Earth Day activities by joining the Sonoma Ecology Center at one of four public locations – Maxwell Farms Regional Park, Larson Regional Park, Fryer Creek and Nathanson Creek Preserve.

Because Earth Day falls on a Tuesday this year, activities will take place the following Saturday, April 26.
