Garcia wins Hanna’s 1st-ever NCS wrestling medal, hoops Hawks’ triumph earns D6 semis

In the wake of getting its first-ever Coastal Mountain Conference wrestling champion, Archbishop Hanna High School now has its first-ever North Coast Section medalist.

After senior Osvaldo Dagio earned a CMC individual title at 115-pounds and advanced to the sectional, junior teammate Alex Garcia took his turn making Hanna Center sports history.

Garcia, who took home a conference third-place medal at 128 pounds, compiled a 6-2 record at Saturday’s NCS championships in Newark, beating Petaluma’s Blake Hartlieb 9-2  and claiming a standout seventh-place medal.

Competing in the tough 115-pound weight class, Dagio finished NCS with a 1-2 mark.
