A second public meeting to discuss development options on the old Sonoma Truck and Auto site, at 870 Broadway, has been set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Sonoma Community Center.

Owen Smith, the Southern California developer who holds an option on the property, said three conceptual plans will be presented by architect Michael Pattinson, principal in the San Francisco firm Bull Stockwell Allen. Smith said the central concept involves a community market, similar to one proposed during the first public meeting Jan. 22.

“I think people will see three pretty appealing site plans,” said Smith. “I really like the market concept, although that won’t be the total use. There would be some residential component as well.”

He added that one schematic uses the old foundation of the historic school building that used to sit on the property.

Smith said he is eager to have more public input on the plans and urged any interested persons to attend. The precise room in the community center for the meting site will be posted in front. The community center is located at 276 E. Napa St.
