Baseball, softball Dragons ready for first pitch

While Sonoma Valley High School’s winter sports of basketball and wrestling are beginning their postseason, the Dragons’ six spring sports – baseball, softball, track and field, swimming and boys’ golf and tennis – are one week into their preseason.

With Sonoma’s boys and girls’ varsity hoops teams playing Sonoma County League Tournament games away tonight and home tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 19, respectively, the defending champion Dragon wrestlers will be competing in the SCL championships at Elsie Allen in Santa Rosa on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Ready for the first pitch of their spring preseason nonleague schedules, the Sonoma varsity baseball boys will play their opener at Terra Linda on Friday, Feb. 21, while the varsity softball Lady Dragons open at Novato on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The varsity Dragon baseball boys will then play at San Marin on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and in Eureka on Saturday, March 1, before returning home to host Drake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at Arnold Field.
