For the third straight year, Hanna Boys Center, located at Arnold Drive and Aqua Caliente Road, will be the site for Sonoma Valley High School’s athletic hall of fame event.

The seventh annual Dragon Hall of Fame banquet and ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10,  and along with seven former standout athletes, the 2014 hall of fame induction class includes a coach and a special honoree.

Longtime track and field coach Sherman Harris will accept the D.A. Pfeiffer Coaches Award, while Margaret Cunningham receives the Mulas Family Recognition Award, which is named for the late Schellville fire chief and dairy farmer, Mitch Mulas.

The individual athletes being inducted into the Dragon Hall of Fame are John Koeberer for the 1960s; John Litzenberg and Alexis Howell for the 1980s; Bobbie O’Gorman, Richard Davison and Veronica Perez for the 1990s; and Melissa Van Paris for the 2000s.

Sonoma’s “team of the decade” that’s being honored is the 1984 Dragons’ football squad.
