A Sonoma man who was arrested on Dec. 16, for making threats against a mother and her two children in the 18000 block of Highway 12, was arrested again on Dec. 29, for again making threats against the family.
According to the police report, at about 2:12 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, Samuel A. Macias, 51, of El Verano, reportedly yelled “very obscene” things at the female resident, her mother, and her young son, and allegedly threatened to kill her and her family.
Two weeks earlier, Macias had been arrested on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony making terrorist threats and a probation violation after he threatened to shoot the woman and her two children and reportedly tried to run the family down in his truck.
After the latest incident, Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies re-arrested Macias on a felony charge of making criminal threats and a probation violation.
Due to this being a repeated offense, a bail increase to $50,000 was requested by deputies and granted by a judge.

Thursday, Dec. 26:
10:30 p.m. – Minors, adult busted with booze at dog park. Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Ernie Smith Community Park in the 18700 block of Arnold Drive after receiving a report that people were trying to get into a pump shed in the dog park, which is located within the community park.
Responding deputies found two juvenile females and an adult male trying to break into the shed, using rocks to break the door. The deputies discovered that the adult male had also supplied alcohol to the two juveniles. The juveniles were cited and released to their parents, while Fernando Lara-Renteria, 21, of the Springs, was arrested and charged with felony attempted burglary, vandalism and contributing to the delinquency of minors. He was booked into the county jail.
Saturday, Dec. 28:
10:09 a.m. – He said, she said, he went to jail. A cohabiting couple in the 1200 block of Calle del Arroyo, called the Sheriff’s Office almost simultaneously from separate phones and locations to report that each had assaulted the other, although there were no injuries to either party. The 50-year-old male was determined to be the primary aggressor and he was arrested on charges of domestic battery.
3:08 p.m. – Dude, you forgot your stash. A landlord cleaning a vacated apartment in the 600 block of Solano Avenue discovered a partially full grocery bag of dried marijuana while inspecting the unit after a tenant moved out. The former tenant could not be located and left no forwarding address. The marijuana was seized for destruction.
Sunday, Dec. 29:
1:29 p.m. – Pipe, probation, arrest. While on foot patrol in the Vineyard Center in the 18900 block of Sonoma Highway, deputies contacted a 29-year-old transient who they found was on probation and had an outstanding warrant. During a probation search, the man was found to be in possession of a knife and a glass pipe, commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. The man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, a probation violation and the outstanding warrant.
