Frederick “Fred” Eugene Aikens, 72, of Sutter Creek, Ca., passed away quickly and peacefully at home on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in the arms of Marsha and Doreen with his loving dog, Lola, by his side.

Fred loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest in every aspect. His love of family, friends, and his dogs was foremost in his life. No matter if you had known Fred for years or five minutes, he had the unique gift to make everyone he came in contact with walk away laughing.

He was proud to have worked for the Golden Gate Bridge Bus Division having retired after 32 years. He enjoyed retirement; bartending for four years before working at the Jackson Rancheria as “Security 20.” Fred was also a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.

Fred is survived by his wife and best friend, Marsha; daughters, Doreen, and her husband, John O’Day, of Minden, Nev.; Jennifer, and her husband, Mike White, of Sonoma; Mia, and her husband, Kevin Raab, of South Lake Tahoe; Kasey Aikens, of Bend, Ore.; Corey Aikens, of Bend, Ore.; sons, Sean, and his wife, Erin Aikens, of Kenwood; Shane, and his wife, Regina Weinstein, of Pacifica; sister, Carol, and her husband, Jim Benson, of Rancho Mirage; grandchildren, Jack, Riley, Michaela, Matt, Marissa, Austin, Tyler, Gage, Ryder, Bronson and Stone. Fred is also survived by a large and loving extended family of in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Ruby Aikens and his sister, Irene Dibble.

Fred lit up the world with laughter and fun. He will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers, Fred requested that donations be made to Marsha Aikens, P.O. Box 1734, Sutter Creek, Ca. 95685 with a portion of the donations going to Boxer Rescue.
