Editor, Index-Tribune:
I love the Index-Tribune, I read it every week and find that, on the whole, it has a good standard of writing. So I was taken aback to see the lead headline on the front page of the Jan. 3 paper (“Sonomans flaunt wood-burn rules”).
Perhaps Don Frances had a New Year’s Day hangover when he wrote it, and didn’t notice that he had typed “flaunt” instead of “flout.”
I would hate to think that a staff writer at the I-T didn’t know the difference.
By the way, I would love to know how many people contact the paper about this. My husband swears that most people won’t notice, while my confidence in the reading public of Sonoma is a little higher.
Best regards, and a very Happy New Year to all at the I-T.
