With the arrival of the new year comes Sonoma Raceway’s 2014 Big O Tires racing season, which will again feature the NASCAR, NHRA, IndyCar, World Touring and Classic Sports Racing major events, along with the Summit ET Bracket Drag Racing Series and the popular Wednesday Night Drags.

The 13-race Summit ET Bracket Drag Racing Series kicks off this Sunday, Jan. 5, while the Wednesday Night Drags run from March 5 to Nov. 12, and include the popular “Top the Cops,” which runs from April through August and gives high school students the opportunity to drag race against local law enforcement officers.

Sonoma Raceway’s 2014 major events schedule will open with the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival on May 17 and 18, followed by the popular NASCAR Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend taking place Friday through Sunday, June 20 to 22.

The annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals will be held the weekend of July 25 through 27, preceded by the NHRA Division 7 Drag Races July 18 through 20.

Then the IndyCar Series, featuring the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, comes to the Valley the weekend of Aug. 22 through 24; while the FIA World Touring Car Championship takes place Sept. 20 to 21; and the Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge is set for Oct. 4 and 5.
