Girl Scouts to recycle Christmas trees

Valley Girl Scouts will again be picking up discarded Christmas trees the three Saturdays after Christmas – Dec. 28, Jan. 4 and Jan. 11.

The Scouts will come through neighborhoods one each weekend. Residents who wish to dispose of their trees are asked to have it at the curb by 9 a.m. Saturday morning with the donation under the doormat. The Scouts are asking for a donation of $10 – and checks made out to Girl Scouts are preferable to cash. Do not leave your donation attached to the tree.

Residents are asked to remove the tree stand. The Scouts cannot take decorations, tinsel, wreaths, garlands or flocked trees.
