All are welcome to come sing at the second annual Sing-It-Yourself Messiah at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the First Congregational Church, 252 W. Spain St.
Participants will sing all the major choruses, from “And the Glory of the Lord” to the “Halleluia Chorus.”
Fast becoming a Sonoma tradition, singing Handel’s Messiah with like-minded friends and neighbors is a great way to kick off a joyful holiday season. The group will be directed by the church’s music director, Terry Jensen. Experience with the music is not necessary. This most beloved tradition of the holidays is enjoyable for the whole family.
Choruses will be sung in four parts, soprano, alto, tenor and bass, and you can join in wherever you feel comfortable.
The well-known Shirmer score will be used, and participants are asked to bring their own if they have one. Extras will be available.
A goodwill offering will be taken and donated in entirety to FISH.
