Meeting for the third time in Sonoma County League play, the Sonoma Valley High School varsity volleyball girls turned in another strong effort and registered their third sweep of longtime foe Analy in the annual postseason SCL Tournament Tuesday night in Pfeiffer Gym.

After posting a pair of regular-season triumphs en route to claiming their third straight league crown, the top-seeded Lady Dragons squeaked out a 25-23 first-set win, then defeated fourth-seeded Analy 25-17 in both the second and third sets for the opening-round victory.

With the convincing win, the Sonoma spikers hosted second-seed Petaluma in the SCL Tourney title match last night – results not available at presstime – and they will be one of the top-seeded teams for the North Coast Section Division-3 playoffs, with the NCS seeding meeting taking place this Sunday, Nov. 10.

Leading the Lady Dragons past Analy were junior Mackenzie Albrecht’s 33 assists, eight digs, five kills, six blocks and three serving aces; junior Delaney Swanson’s 11 kills, 11 digs and one block; junior Ciara Smith’s 10 blocks and 10 kills; freshman Kiara Miles’ eight kills and seven digs; junior Hannah Herrick’s six digs, five kills and one block; freshman Jenna Mak's 12 digs and one ace; senior Kayten Mak’s four digs; and senior Janeth Silva’s two blocks.
