The Sonoma Valley High School tennis girls recently ended their Sonoma County League season blanking visiting Healdsburg 7-0 to finish with an 8-4 SCL third-place record.

But, in the wake of the regular season in team play – Petaluma went undefeated to claim the title – the annual SCL singles and doubles tournaments will be held on the Santa Rosa Junior College courts starting this Thursday, Oct. 31, with six Lady Dragons competing.

Pairing up in doubles with Sonoma senior Michelle Stovall, who is a defending SCL doubles champion, is freshman Syndey Moore, with junior Cecilia Montano – a singles tournament semifinalist last season – and junior Hanna Lemaire both competing in the league singles tourney, and junior Stephanie Angulo and sophomore Alison Gray playing doubles.

Sonoma’s cross-country teams, with the boys coming off a tri-meet sweep of Analy and Healdsburg behind individual race winner senior Owen Ljung, and the girls splitting their matches – falling to Analy, but outrunning Healdsburg – will host SCL foe El Molino in both their home and season finales tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. on the Maxwell Farms Regional Park course.
